LESSONS IN EMPATHY
At National Geographic, we define empathy as the curiosity and compassion that inspires a person to learn about, care for, and protect the wonder of our world.
Many of the images shown in this exhibit draw an emotional response from us.
We feel a connection to the photographers, the animals, or the places.
Often these kinds of connections are what motivate us to act—to become better informed
or to protect what is vulnerable.
Our actions, however small, can drive meaningful change.
